May 4, 2011 - Intelligent Discovery Solutions Presents Three Educational SessionsIntelligent Discovery Solutions, Inc., (iDS) a premier provider of information management consulting and technology services to multinational corporations, financial institutions and law firms, announced today its experts and guests will present a series of educational events at LegalTech West Coast on Tuesday, May 17, from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. iDS will present three sessions around the topic of “Information Assets: Analyzing, Gathering and Protecting a Company’s Most Valuable Resources.” The first session, starting at 1:00 p.m. is entitled “Trade Secret Investigations: The Legal and Technical Perspective” and will be presented by Robert Milligan, a partner in the Litigation and Labor & Employment Departments of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, and James Vaughn, Managing Director at iDS. The presenters will cover areas of computer forensics that corporations and law firms may have previously overlooked, including artifacts that may be available when conducting forensic analysis, legal issues and challenges when dealing with trade secret issues in different jurisdictions, and facts about the statistical makeup of trade secret cases. The second session, starting at 2:30 p.m. will be presented by iDS experts James Vaughn and Neal Lawson, also a Managing Director of the firm. Attendees to this session, “Social Media Research & Collections: Tips, Tricks and Tools for Preserving the Evidence” will learn how to establish guidelines for documenting searches and collecting ever-changing and growing social media data that may be used as evidence. The third session at 3:45 p.m. is titled “Anatomy of a Data Breach: How Does it Occur, Evidence Preservation and Mitigating Risk” and will cover the five key stages of a data breach, how to investigate it, and steps to mitigate a data breach. Stephen Turner, Partner in the Los Angeles office of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP and Mike Tyk, Director at iDS will present this final session of the day. LegalTech West Coast takes place May 17 and 18 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles. LegalTech is widely known as the most important legal technology event of the year.
