Expert Testimony and 30(b)(6) Designees

Intelligent Discovery Solutions provides expert testimony in the three areas of electronic systems, information and discovery. Namely, our experience lies in being designated as 30(b)(6) witnesses, subject matter experts and as opinion experts.

As 30(b)(6) witnesses we work on behalf of companies to best represent them in deposition. This is particularly effective for 30(b)(6) depositions with cross-functional areas of law, business 

and technology. In one recent case, we testified on behalf of a mining company as to their computer systems and litigation practices spanning a five-year period. In another, we testified on behalf of a pharmaceutical company as to their computers, network systems and document retention procedures spanning a 10-year period.

As subject matter experts, we provide detailed expertise on enterprise applications, email archives, large databases, theft of computer-based intellectual property and the functioning of software and hardware systems. For example, when companies are struggling with data extraction from archived solutions, our team works with the technical team to engineer solutions for the delivery of that data for processing.

As opinion experts, we provide cost and burden estimates for evaluating the accessibility of ESI under FRCP Rule 26(b)(2)(B), as well as industry best practices for the management of backup tapes, the exchange of native versus non-native files, the analysis of discovery compliance and other aspects of e-discovery.
